Hana-Maru is a friendly white seal who is friends with Badtz-Maru and Pandaba. A 'hanamaru' is a swirly and elaborate circle mark, signifying not just a correct answer, but a very good one. Hana-Maru is very kind and helpful to all. One of his other friends is a panda called “Pandaba”.

Hana-Maru is an all-white seal with 3 whiskers on each side of his face. His constant smile is evidence of his friendly nature and is British.
